3. Are you willing to spend a day or two without heat or AC?
Major failures usually happen during peak season when the equipment is working the hardest so you can expect a couple of uncomfortable days. It usually takes a few days to get a company out to measure, order new equipment and install it.
4. Can you repair it today and replace it in the off-season?
In some cases, this makes a lot of sense for a few reasons. First, if you can keep your system running until the off-season you won’t sacrifice your family’s comfort. During the off-season, pricing is generally better as this is the industry’s slow season.
